EW's editorial guidelines Published on October 22, 2023 09:05PM EDT A very famous and very rich woman once said, "Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate." But Kelly Clarkson is denying that she's a hater after she made some innocent remarks about the NFL's questionable coverage of the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce romance. Clarkson took to Instagram on Saturday after reports that she had "bashed" the burgeoning affair, writing that she was merely ready for some football. Kelly Clarkson. Jason Mendez/Getty "Just a quick public service announcement everybody since this seems to be breaking news," Clarkson wrote. "Do not fall prey to clickbait, trash reporters twisting the facts again. I did not bash anyone's romance." She continued, "I am pro romance. Yay romance. Did y'all even watch what I actually said on my show? I just said I want to watch football when I tune in to watch football. Seems an appropriate request. Okay, carry on, and GO COWBOYS!" After Saturday Night Live mocked the NFL's coverage of T-n-T, Bowen Yang was a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where Clarkson said she found the sketch "hilarious" — if not the real thing. "It's not hilarious how it is literally taking over the NFL for people that like watching sports now," she said at the time. "It's like you're watching Housewives while you're watching." For the record, even Travis Kelce thinks the NFL is "overdoing it," so Clarkson probably has a point. No need to bring Housewives into it, though. They've been through enough.
