Movies Penelope Ann Miller recalls Kindergarten Cop 'prankster' Arnold Schwarzenegger convincing her a car dealer conned her "Oh Penelope, you're so gullible." By Ryan Coleman Published on November 19, 2024 12:30AM EST Comments Arnold Schwarzenegger: strongman, Governator...prankster? Penelope Ann Miller recently dished about the silly side of the athletic Austrian, which was on full display while they shot Kindergarten Cop in 1990. "He's a big prankster" she said on the Still Here Hollywood podcast. "My first car that I ever bought new, I bought on Kindergarten Cop, and I had it delivered to the set. We were filming at Universal in the [San Fernando Valley], and I got this shiny red BMW, and I said, 'Oh, here's my car. You wanna come out and look at my car?' It was by my trailer, our trailers were across from each other, and he's like, 'This is new?'" Penelope Ann Miller and Arnold Schwarzenegger in 'Kindergarten Cop'. Universal / Courtesy: Everett Collection Distressed by Schwarzenegger's insinuation, Miller anxiously responded, "'Yes, it's new. I just got it.' He's like, 'Oh, I don't know Penelope'... He started going around the car looking underneath it. I said, 'But the odometer is like zero point whatever! He goes, 'Oh, they change that all the time. They just put it back. It could have had a lot of miles on it.' So I'm sitting there thinking myself, Oh my gosh, they sold me a used car. They've lied to me." Spiraling, Miller explained that she was "about to go run in and call the dealer to say, 'Arnold Schwarzenegger told me you sold me a used car!'" Finally the Schwarzenegger relented. "He's like, 'Oh Penelope, you're so gullible.' So he would do things like that. He was constantly joking around, and he seems to love being on set and love having a good time." Kindergarten Cop star reveals origin of ‘boys have a penis’ line While reminiscing fondly on Schwarzenegger's playful side, she also praised his practical acumen, saying he's "a real businessman" who is "interested in the whole aspect of, not just filmmaking, but wherever he is committed to at the time, looking at the box office and all of that stuff." Before he was ever landed his first role in a film, Schwarzenegger, who was known as a professional bodybuilder, had started a bricklaying business with a friend. Throughout his bodybuilding and acting careers, he used the cash earned to invest in real estate, Planet Hollywood, Ohio shopping malls, local festivals, publishing house subsidiaries, and more. Schwarzenegger next appears in the voice cast of Prime Video's animated anthology Secret Level, and Miller can be seen this year as Nancy Reagan in Sean McNamara's Reagan. Want more movie news?
