Nineveh man lost control of motorcycle, killed in East Maine Road crash

The victim of a fatal motorcycle crash in the town of Maine has been identified.

According to a press release, the Broome County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a single-motorcycle crash at 8:04 p.m. on Thursday near East Maine Road between Reynolds Road and Oakdale Road in Maine.

Deputies located the vehicle's operator, identified as Jared D. Warner, 37, of Nineveh, lying a "significant distance" from the motorcycle.

They began performing life-saving measures, but Warner was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the release, the department's investigation revealed Warner was traveling at high speed and lost control of the motorcycle, causing the crash.

The department was assisted by the town Emergency Squad, the Maine Volunteer Fire Department and the state Department of Transportation.
