HCMC – Vinhomes JSC (VHM) has proposed a 2,500-hectare urban development project in the northern province of Vinh Phuc.
The project would span Vinh Yen City, Binh Xuyen District, and Yen Lac District, according to the company’s report submitted to the provincial government.
The company said the proposal is based on an assessment of the province’s development potential. It aims to build a modern urban area with integrated infrastructure.
Located near Hanoi City and Noi Bai International Airport, Vinh Phuc is part of the northern economic hub. Its 2021–2030 master plan includes goals to meet Class I urban criteria and eventually become a centrally governed city.
As of June, Vinh Phuc had more than 1,300 domestic and foreign investment projects. Foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first nine months of 2024 totaled US$507.94 million, up by 3% over the same period last year.
Closing the trading session today, December 19, VHM edged down by 1.71% to VND40,200 per share, with a trading volume of over 5.7 million shares.
The VN-Index lost 11.33 points, or 0.89%, to 1,254.67 on Thursday, with 322 stocks declining and 75 others advancing on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange.
Stock trade surged 46% in volume and 40% in value over the previous session, with 779.4 million shares worth VND17.9 trillion changing hands. Block deals contributed nearly 116.7 million shares valued at VND2.42 trillion.
Among the 30 largest-cap stocks, SSB dropped the steepest at 4.4% to VND16,500 per share, with over 2.2 million shares traded. BCM fell by 1.9% to VND66,500 per share, with MSN, GVR, SHB, and others dipping between 1.4% and 1.92%.
Liquidity spiked for several blue-chip stocks. SSI was the most actively traded stock on the southern market on a volume of 30.7 million shares, followed by HPG, SHB, and VPB with 30.3 million shares, 22.1 million shares, and 21.1 million shares, respectively.
The HNX-Index moved sideways, up a fractional 0.05%, or 0.11 points, to 227.54, with 57 gainers and 86 decliners. There were 58.7 million shares valued at VND1.12 trillion being transacted on the Hanoi Stock Exchange.
