HCMC – State-run lender BIDV (HOSE: BID) has announced to pay a 21% stock dividend to its shareholders, with December 24 set as the record date.
Shareholders will get 21 new shares for every 100 shares held. The bank plans to issue 1.2 billion new shares for this dividend.
The dividend payment will be made using BIDV’s retained earnings for 2022. BIDV’s net profit for 2022 was nearly VND18 trillion, of which VND12.53 trillion is available for the dividend after allocations to reserves.
In its third-quarter earnings report, BIDV’s consolidated net interest income reached VND14 trillion, a 1.5% increase from the same period last year. The bank’s net profit for the quarter was nearly VND5.21 trillion, surging 21.9% year-on-year.
For the first nine months of 2024, net interest income totaled VND42.4 trillion, up by 2.7% over the same period last year. After-tax profit for this period rose by 11.5% to VND17.7 trillion.
Closing the trading session today, December 17, BID edged down by 0.32% to VND46,600 per share, with a trading volume of over 2.2 million shares.
The VN-Index dropped by 2.07 points, or 0.16%, at 1,261.72 points on Tuesday, with 147 winners and 232 losers.
Stock trade on the southern market dropped by 7% in volume and 6% in value over the previous session, with 502.2 million shares worth VND12.08 trillion changing hands. Block deals accounted for 144 million shares valued at more than VND3.3 trillion.
Blue-chip stocks saw limited price changes, but the VN30-Index lost 4.19 points, or 0.31%, to 1,327.63 points as decliners outnumbered gainers at a ratio of 19 to 5. Five bluechips, including CTG, HPG, SAB, SSB and TPB stayed flat.
With over 10.8 million shares traded, HPG took the lead by liquidity within the VN30 basket, which groups the 30 largest-cap stocks. However, securities broker VIX was the most actively traded stock on the southern exchange on volume of 13.2 million shares.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index barely changed, edging down by 0.15 point, or 0.07%, to close at 226.89 points. In the northern market, 76 stocks advanced while 73 declined. Trading volume reached over 76 million shares, valued at VND548.7 billion.
