[edit]From Proto-Finnic *taakka, borrowed from Proto-Norse *ᛊᛏᚨᚲᚲᚨᛉ (*stakkaʀ), from Proto-Germanic *stakkaz (compare Old Norse stakkr (“hay stack, heap”)). Doublet of takka.
