Etymology

[edit]

According to Meyer and Tagliavini from mbar (to bring (back)) (mbar +‎ -oj). Related to Albanian mbarë (good, right, complete, wholly, etc.), further related to mbart (to bear, carry (back)), Albanian mbaj (to hold, carry) and bie (to bring).[1]

Orel proposed it as a (prefixal) derivative of parë.[2]

A formation with the verbal suffix -o-, from Proto-Albanian *-ē- (from *-eh₁-).(Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
