[edit]From Ottoman Turkish طورم, Old Anatolian Turkish طوروم. Cognate with Turkmen tōrum (“6 month-1 year old young camel”), Salar tormu (“two years old female young horse”), torı (“male young horse”), and torma turı, also Tuvan [script needed] (dorum, “young camel”), dialectal Azerbaijani turun (“2 years old young camel”), maybe also dialectal Azerbaijani torumca (“spider”).
