I am looking to move tennis racket to "racquet (tennis)". Please offer opinions on that talk page. -- Mjquin id 17:47, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
Defining the game of tennis
[edit]I think it would be more sensible to define a game in terms of how it is played, rather than by giving specific sizes and measurements of its equipment. Anyone fancy a rewrite? Equinox ◑ 17:03, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
1705 quote
[edit]An epitaph in St Michael's Cathedral, Coventry, written circa 1705 read:[1]
Here lyes an old toss'd Tennis Ball:
Was racketted, from spring to fall,
With so much heat and so much hast,
Time's arm for shame grew tyred at last.
I hope this can be used. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:14, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
