[edit]Inherited from Middle Persian 𐭣𐭠𐭭𐭪 (dʾnk' /dānag/), from Proto-Iranian *daHnáH, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *dʰaHnáH, from Proto-Indo-European *dʰoHnéh₂. Cognate with Baluchi دانگ (dànag, “pimple”). Doublet of دانگ.
