Instance noun, derived from the form VIII verbal noun اِنْتِفَاض (intifāḍ, shaking, shaking off) +‎ ـَة (-a, instance noun suffix) from the verb اِنْتَفَضَ (intafaḍa, to shake, to be shaken off).
