Map modification request - India, West Bengal
Three districts of West Bengal have been bifurcated over the past few years. The interactive maps normally used in the Infoboxes on various town and other pages do not show the new districts, as for example the map on the Bardhaman page. Another type of map used in the Infoboxes on the district pages of West Bengal has been updated. Please see - Purba Bardhaman district, Paschim Medinipur district and Jalpaiguri district, for the updated maps. Please modify the standard maps in use. Cheers. – Chandan Guha (talk) 00:09, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
- File:India West Bengal adm location map.svg is available but I am not allowed to edit the module. NNW (talk) 11:51, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
- This map is okay. It will not require any modification, but this map is not linked to Infoboxes in different pages of English Wikipedia. When the map entry is made as "India West Bengal" the old wrong map (not this one) appears in the Infobox. Interestingly, the correct map is there in Bengali, German and some other language Wikipedias, but not in English Wikipedia. Can someone please help to set that right? Cheers. - Chandan Guha (talk) 14:42, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
- It's done now. NNW (talk) 11:37, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

- Can someone make the SVG version of this map? It would be good to also figuring the scales. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeromi Mikhael (talk • contribs)

- Not done @Jeromi Mikhael: Are you sure that map is in the public domain? I really don't think it would be, if it's from a tourist brochure. If not, tracing an SVG version of it would also be a copyright violation. I've tagged the file on commons. You'll have to resolve the copyright problem before anyone can do this request. – Joe (talk) 15:17, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Ummm.....Intourist is a state agency for tourist program, so any works published under Intourist should be tagged as a work of state with the PD-LT-exempt.--Jeromi Mikhael (talk) 15:58, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Jeromi Mikhael: {{PD-LT-exempt}} refers to a law that was enacted in 1999, by a state which didn't exist when this map was produced, and says it applies to "official State symbols and insignia". You also haven't used that tag on this image. I'm not saying this definitely isn't public domain, but the licensing information you uploaded it with is clearly incorrect. – Joe (talk) 16:38, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

North American species range maps
I noticed that the maps giving the ranges of the bobcat (File:Bobcat Lynx rufus distribution map.png) and North American river otter (File:LontraCanadensisMap.svg) don't agree with the information provided by the IUCN (bobcat, otter), the supposed source of the data. The IUCN offers a "download spatial data" link which requires login; since I don't have the skill to make the maps I haven't experimented with that. If someone could update/correct those maps, I'd appreciate that. Huon (talk) 20:21, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

- please make a map that shows the, on a larger map of Saipan, rather than just dots in the Pacific… -- Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 11:00, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

The map I've added above has both places marked on it. (Hohum @) 13:04, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for the find, Hohum! What is needed, now, is a map of the island of Saipan with just the cliffs marked, without the attendant topographic delineation and other landmarks.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 23:47, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

Please color Tunisia blue on the map, because it has ratified the convention. Source: [1]
