Question from Lydia Sith (19:20, 29 October 2024)

[edit]

How do I make a link to a different article? --Lydia Sith (talk) 19:20, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Lydia Sith! You can add a link by clicking edit on the page you want to add the link to, then there will be an icon that looks like a chain link in the toolbar at the top of that window which lets you add links. You might be interested in Help:Introduction, or more specifically this part of that introduction which goes over editing tools. Tollens (talk) 18:06, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Ukulele to take ditto on Help:Getting started (08:57, 1 November 2024)

[edit]

How can I use this app --Ukulele to take ditto (talk) 08:58, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ukulele to take ditto, is there something specific I might be able to help with? Wikipedia is quite a broad topic so it's difficult to give you a useful answer. You might be interested in Help:Introduction, if you haven't seen it already. Tollens (talk) 18:07, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from UnKnOwNpErSoN75 on Taikyoku shogi (08:12, 3 November 2024)

Hello! Can you help me with the "Mountain Stag" part of this article to make the table wider to be the same as the others? Thank you! --UnKnOwNpErSoN75 (talk) 08:12, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi AWikipedian25, it looks like you have figured this out on your own. If you still need help, please do ask and I'll be happy to assist. Tollens (talk) 18:11, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from TinyHelperBigProblems (16:00, 13 November 2024)

[edit]

Hello Tollens! Can you edit a pages name for a typo? Thanks! From Tiny. --TinyHelperBigProblems (talk) 16:00, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher)@TinyHelperBigProblems: If you are talking about Leptothorax recedens, please do not move it without something other than the single reference on the article... the article which states that most still use the current name. - UtherSRG (talk) 16:30, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I don't need to do that as I added a link that leads to that page from the Temnothorax page, and now people should find what they were looking for when looking for Themnothorax recedes. I'm sorry if I did anything problematic TinyHelperBigProblems (talk) 16:59, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, we need references that say this is now the accepted taxonomy. - UtherSRG (talk) 18:44, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:32, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Onlinegamer2024 (07:41, 22 November 2024)

[edit]

How do I create articles that don't violate the rules and regulation --Onlinegamer2024 (talk) 07:41, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Onlinegamer2024 – it seems like you may misunderstand what Wikipedia is for. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia; this means that its aim is to give a summary of what reliable sources say about various topics. It is not a how-to guide for any topics, and it is not a place for advertising or promoting any sort of website, business, etc. If you are interested in helping to summarize what has already been written about notable topics, you might consider reading through Help:Introduction, and potentially our policies about reliable sources, what kinds of topics are suitable for Wikipedia, and writing neutrally.
