What are your thoughts on this record? I bought the limited edition gold vinyl (you know, the one they pressed 1000 copies of) for this and I am so disappointed. My take? The only songs that actually sound like ADTR are tracks 1, 4, 7, 10, 14. 2, 9, 12 and 13 are passable, the rest are overproduced, generic filler. I'm all for sound exploration but jeez, waiting 4 and a half years with a one and a half year delay for something this stark blows. 😔 dannymusiceditor oops 03:06, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- I haven't heard it yet, but I've seen a lot of negative responses both on the band's posts and Kerrang, Rock Sound etc posts about it. I liked the first few singles – "Degenerates", "Resentment" and "Mindreader" – when they came out, I don't remember if I heard "Brick Wall" though. The long wait (delay?) between this and the last album practically killed any hype I had for this. Yeepsi (talk) 10:36, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- It's true. To be quite honest, "Last Chance to Dance", "Resentment", and "Only Money" were the only real songs of any substance, even "Everything We Need" and "Brick Wall" lack that in some capacity, but at least those ones still flow well. The rest are meh or worse, I think Jeremy got really carried away on the production. So sad. For what it's worth, aside from "Degenerates", at least they chose the album's best songs for singles. "Last Chance to Dance" is like "Sticks & Bricks" part 2, heaviest and best one. dannymusiceditor oops 00:51, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
@DannyMusicEditor: Off the cuff, stream of conscious writing while listening:
- "Brick Wall" – Eh. Don't like how Jeremy's vocals sound. The pre-chorus guitars sound kinda rushed, like they literally couldn't wait to get to the chorus. Shifting into the chorus seems forced. Really could've done without the ending tbh.
- "Mindreader" – Alright. Don't like the bridge.
- "Bloodsucker" – Eh. The acoustic parts seem like some attempt at being a poor man's Frank Turner
- "Last Chance to Dance (Bad Friend)" – Alright. Definitely Sticks&Stones part II.
- "F.Y.M." – Like this one.
- "High Diving" – Alright. Sounds like something from Mania. Don't like the bridge.
- "Resentment" – Alright. The synth on top of the heavy parts reminds me of Enter Shikari
- "Looks Like Hell" – Alright.
- "Viva La Mexico" – Alright. Don't like how Jeremy's vocals sound.
- "Only Money" – Eh.
- "Degenerates" – Like this one.
- "Permanent" – Eh.
- "Re-Entry" – Eh. Sounds more like a closer than anything else.
- "Everything We Need" – Feels like a bonus track.
2/5 I suppose? Yeepsi (talk) 21:55, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

'Variation' songs in The Family Way by Paul McCartney
[edit]Hey, Yeepsi. Back in 2013, you appeared to have made redirects from article titles 'Variation I' through 'V' to The Family Way, a soundtrack album by Paul McCartney. Looking at the article for the album today, I'm unable to find any mentions of 'Variation...' in that article, are these tracks from that album? The track list doesn't mention them.
I was expecting to go to the John Cage compositions when your redirect sent me to that soundtrack album. Seeing as it wasn't clear to me why 'Variation I-V' (and possibly more) were linked to The Family Way, I took the liberty to change the redirects to point to the article about the Cage compositions.
The lack of any mention of 'Variation' in The Family Way makes mine seem like the more appropriate article title to redirect to, at least to me, but I would like to hear your explanation or concerns. —I'llbeyourbeach (talk) 09:28, 8 April 2021 (UTC)

DYK for Turnover discography
[edit]On 24 April 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Turnover discography, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the music styles in the discography of Turnover range from pop-punk to dream pop? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Turnover discography. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Turnover discography), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Laid bonus tracks
[edit]Hi. In your expansion of Laid (album), I noticed you removed the reissues that had bonus tracks from the track listing. Are you going to restore them? If I recall correctly, this is not the first article you've done this on, and I don't agree with the removal of information like this. While of course these tracks are not on the original edition of the album, there's nothing wrong with including bonus tracks attached to other editions, especially as others (editors and also publications reporting about them) might find those editions significant. While Wikipedia is not Discogs and not going to list every edition's differences, having a few is of no detriment to the article. Ss112 10:44, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
- Per WP:TRACKLISTING: "Include track listings for alternative editions only when they are significantly different and when the tracks are the subject of extensive commentary [...] Otherwise, notable differences can be summarised in the prose in lieu of additional track lists." There's sources saying the editions exist, but nothing in the vein of extensive commentary on them. Yeepsi (talk) 10:51, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
- But you can understand that one line of a guideline is very widely disregarded because it is not commonly followed. Practically every album released nowadays is issued in multiple editions with bonus tracks, and it would be considered a glaring oversight to not include them and particularly odd to expunge them. The guideline specifically states the bonus tracks should have extensive commentary within the article, not in external sources. Naturally though, yes, the external commentary would need to be sourced. Considering that, would you go on to an article and only a remove subsection containing bonus tracks from the track listing section because it is not the subject of extensive commentary within the article itself? I'm not saying there aren't other editors—you might know of some—but you're about the only editor I've actually seen removing bonus tracks. Ss112 11:40, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not gonna remove extra tracks randomly, unless it's for an article I'm working on. See discussion here. Yeepsi (talk) 11:49, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

Coral Island (album)
[edit]Hello:
The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Coral Island (album) has been completed.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Despite the use of "psychedelia" in the Guardian review headline I think the music should be described as "psychedelic". "Psychedelia" would describe the subculture. But, that is up to you. The article was in great shape - my changes were minor. One point re. punctuation. If a whole sentence is being quoted the period appears inside the quotation marks, otherwise Wikipedia's MOS says the period must appear outside the quotation.
Best of luck with the GAN.

Wah Wah
[edit]I know I've said well done for revamping James' post-Wah Wah articles before but now I see you've excellently done all the album articles the other side of it as well. If it would have been your intention to do the same for Wah Wah itself had I never worked on it, please be my guest and rework it however you want. I did all that when I was 18 before I really had much a clue about good sourcing or prose, hence why its the mess it is.--TangoTizerWolfstone (talk) 21:35, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- @TangoTizerWolfstone: Thanks so much! I didn't touch Wah Wah as I assumed you'd go back to it at some point. I'll go through and rework it eventually; when I inevitably nom it for GA (as I intend to do with all their albums), would you want co-nominator credit? The least I could do since you've done a massive amount of work on it. Yeepsi (talk) 21:55, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- Ooh sure, thank you! To try and better justify me as a co-nom I'll try and do a bit of work on the article in the meantime, within the next few weeks hopefully, replacing a few bad sources and introducing a few other things I can probably find. It was my loose intention to go back to it and other articles I wrote or re-wrote around 2016 but my motivation to do so pretty much got side-lined by exclusively working on new (or new to me) articles.--TangoTizerWolfstone (talk) 22:47, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
