Images

[edit]

Hi, Thanks for uploading the image on VJP Saldanha's page. However, it is best that you move the image to Wikimedia Commons, so that you can ensure it remains.

If you can't move it, then please re-upload it on Commons, with a proper description and license.

In commons, you have to send your permission even for your own image. An administrator will review it and issue an OTRS ticket.

As such, you will have to send an email to [email protected] , along with the following message:

I hereby assert that I am the sole owner of the exclusive copyright of VJP Saldanha.jpg .

I agree to publish that work under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license.

I acknowledge that I grant anyone the right to use the work in a commercial product, and to modify it according to their needs, as long as they abide by the terms of the license and any other applicable laws.

I am aware that I always retain copyright of my work, and retain the right to be attributed in accordance with the license chosen. Modifications others make to the work will not be attributed to me.

I am aware that the free license only concerns copyright, and I reserve the option to take action against anyone who uses this work in a libelous way, or in violation of personality rights, trademark restrictions, etc.

I acknowledge that I cannot withdraw this agreement, and that the work may or may not be kept permanently on a Wikimedia project.

December 03, 2010, Your Name, World Konkani Centre, Mangalore

I see that you have uploaded many other images. So, i request you to do the same for them as well.

Please feel free to ask, if you need my help and suggestions. Most sincere regards, Joyson Noel Holla at me 11:25, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You wan't me to upload them for you? If so, what is your user name in Commons? Another question i would like to ask is are you a member or a prominent figure of the World Konkani Academy? Joyson Noel Holla at me 07:21, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I do not feel safe disclosing my email id here. Do you mind sending me yours or the academy's here? I will email you then. Joyson Noel Holla at me 08:16, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Just to let you know that, i have fixed the image files on Commons. Now, it is left to you to send permissions for each image to the email id that i specified, for an OTRS ticket to be issued. Joyson Noel Holla at me 08:23, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I will also ask an administrator to delete the duplicates in Wikipedia, once you have received the OTRS ticket for all the images. Joyson Noel Holla at me 08:31, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, i have already requested an administrator to delete the duplicates in Wikipeida. It should happen anytime soon.

However, i request you to do the same for the following images:

Thanks for your wonderful contributions to Wikipedia. Joyson Noel Holla at me 09:10, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: I wan't more help

[edit]

Did you send the permissions? Joyson Noel Holla at me 10:23, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I shall do it, after the permissions have been approved. Joyson Noel Holla at me 11:35, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done! :-) Joyson Noel Holla at me 07:57, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 10:28, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Kudmul Ranga Rao, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.hindu.com/thehindu/2001/04/14/stories/0414210h.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bakibab Borkar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 07:05, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition to Kudmul Ranga Rao has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. VernoWhitney (talk) 16:08, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you. - 220.101 talk\Contribs 14:47, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Pundalik Naik has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability not established

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Eeekster (talk) 07:52, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Temples collages

[edit]

Hi Guru, regarding the collages you have uploaded, are the individual images your own? If not, then are these free images. Regards, Joyson Noel Holla at me! 13:36, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes the individual photographs are our own. The project is still going on for photographing Konkani Culture. Konkani Manis 13:08, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

OK, then it belongs to the association. Thanks for clarifying that. Joyson Noel Holla at me! 13:25, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of World Konkani Hall Of Fame for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article World Konkani Hall Of Fame is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/World Konkani Hall Of Fame until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Redtigerxyz Talk 06:47, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
