"King" or "the King"?

[edit]

It seems that the leading sentence was changed recently from "Charles III is King of the United Kingdom" to "Charles III is the King of the United Kingdom," going against the convention established in articles covering other monarchs. I was unable to find any Wikipedia guide that covers such a convention, however. Nonetheless I did want to bring this up for the sake of consistency. What do we think about this? Cheers. We go with "King", for monarch bios. I've removed "the" from the intro. GoodDay (talk) 16:57, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Does a crop count?

[edit]

It says you need consensus on the talk page for a new lead image, but does a crop from the same image count? Jetwindy (talk) 17:37, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Jetwindy - Yes if the pic is still high enough quality when cropped. Which pic are we talking about? You could put it here for comment. Tony Holkham (Talk) 18:13, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, here is the file name: File:King Charles III in July 2023.jpg Jetwindy (talk) 20:56, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There is no problem that I can see. Tony Holkham (Talk) 21:57, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So you mean I can change it to this? Jetwindy (talk) 23:08, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, I mean there's no problem with the current (cropped) image, which has been there for some months. Tony Holkham (Talk) 23:16, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
We would show more of his suit and less of his face. Is that better? Wehwalt (talk) 01:07, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, the current one has a low resolution but, this one does have a higher res by around 300 pixels horizontally and around 1,000 pixels vertically. Jetwindy (talk) 13:04, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's the same resolution. The present image is a crop of this one. It's better to show his face clearly than focus on the suit. DrKay (talk) 13:10, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Alright then! I guess we are just keeping this one! Jetwindy (talk) 13:12, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
(i meant we are keeping the current one) Jetwindy (talk) 13:13, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Lead image

Left image for new infobox image? Taken in 2025 in Canada. Rexophile (talk) 00:59, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

His face doesn't look as washed out and is more natural. Rexophile (talk) 01:00, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
