Disambiguation link notification for March 6
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 06:09, 6 March 2024 (UTC)

Hello! I was typing out this response when you re-committed your edits. Thank you very much for adding a Geography section to the page, but also please do not delete/mangle large portions of the article as well. Top5a (talk) 12:21, 5 May 2024 (UTC)

Hello TinaLees-Jones. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:TinaLees-Jones. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=TinaLees-Jones|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Amigao (talk) 10:20, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- You make very many allegations, but I can start by stating that I have no interest in any source of funding, whether it comes from the US government or Russia or Israel or China. I just like Tibet, and having familiarized myself with these rules of writing (and including experience from other editors), I think I can try to write some interesting news. TinaLees-Jones (talk) 13:40, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Amigao. I noticed that you recently removed content from Religion in Tibet without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Amigao (talk) 10:52, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- If you, sir, feel that my writing has greatly embarrassed you or gone against your position. Or if you feel that my write-up is nowhere near as good as some of the previous edits, I can stay away from your perspective and sphere of influence (I do feel that most of the content dealing with Tibet and China is very outdated and biased, and I do believe that you see a qualitative difference in the entries before and after the write-up). TinaLees-Jones (talk) 13:42, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- Regarding the Tibetan religion, first of all the history of Tibetan religion has to be originated from the Bön, under the impression of the historical formation of Nepal and China's inland, and the formation of the more distinctive Tibetan Buddhism. It is on this basis that the construction is clearer. This theory can be obtained both from Chinese and Indian books, but from American and British writings, more emphasis is placed on the religious influence carried out since the British colonization of Tibet after 1900, and the scope of this influence is only confronted with the upper echelons of the Tibetan regime. TinaLees-Jones (talk) 13:51, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- Those are topics to be raised in Talk:Religion in Tibet, not here. - Amigao (talk) 17:10, 10 May 2024 (UTC)

- This is a logical problem that exists in the structural framework of this entry, so that it appears that Tibet "suddenly" has a self-special Buddhist culture and tradition. And the pattern seems to be exactly the same at both the civil and bureaucratic levels (if you read a bit of history, it will be clearer that this is a false proposition). TinaLees-Jones (talk) 13:52, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- As for the four different sects of Tibetan Buddhism (we don't usually call them TRADITIONS, but rather sects). Understanding the differences and contradictions between the different sects is the only way to better explain why the Dalai Lama would be one of them (and his departure would only take some of the followers with him - not the vast majority), but his influence is still there. As for these sources, I am not sure why you deleted them. TinaLees-Jones (talk) 13:55, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- Also on the question of whether Hinduism exists in Tibet, the answer is very few, especially fewer among the civilian population. If you see the geographic differences, the pattern of Indian migration into Tibet, from the common people (not the military), is just through Nepal. And Nepal is a typical Theravada sect of Buddhism, and there are still differences with Tibetan Buddhism. So there are natural attributes to this Hinduism into Tibet, this religious compartmentalization, and I don't know why you insist on staying - If you have a specific interest to claim, you can also state it directly or metaphorically. TinaLees-Jones (talk) 13:59, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at 2023 France–China Summit, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Amigao (talk) 11:12, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- One of the issues you mentioned is an interesting one in Europe, namely why there is a relatively large difference between France and the EU in the topic of China. This is especially true in a China-France thread, should we as editors deliberately emphasize von der Leyen (rather than the opinions of China's Xi Jinping or France's Macron). Of course I think that if the main venue of a talk is in France, then more local government and media literature in France should be read; if it is in China, then Chinese analysis should not be excluded from Wikipedia. A cooperative and powerful China and France will inevitably move the US or UK's cake. If I were the US or UK government, I would also use media reports to deliberately discredit the cooperation (and if I could prevent it, so much the better).
- But the reality is that the smear didn't live up to the "expectation", Xi Jinping still went to France, Macron still entertained him, and the agreement was signed. The fact that Wikipedia has to go on and on about irrelevant details of Von der Leyen's remarks is, I think, not only an insult to China and France, but also an insult to Wikipedia. Of course this is wishful thinking on my part; after all, the Wikipedia servers are in the US. Our discussion itself is a travesty. TinaLees-Jones (talk) 14:06, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- Of course I still respect Von der Leyen, and I'm probably one of the few in China who think Von der Leyen looked at European interests more than American or Chinese interests. She criticized China's dumping on the EU in front of Xi Jinping, which I thought was quite courageous and bold. That's why I found her photo on the EU website, but if I were to put her words on the corresponding page, I'd probably be told that I'm "describing too many details that no one cares about". TinaLees-Jones (talk) 14:22, 10 May 2024 (UTC)

Hello, TinaLees-Jones
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Babegriev, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, 2022 state visit by Xi Jinping to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.
If you wish to contest the deletion:
- Edit the page
- Remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- Click the button.
If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Babegriev}}
. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from one or more pages to another page. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. For example: Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.
It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, please add attribution retrospectively for that also, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. – Joe (talk) 13:19, 20 June 2024 (UTC)

Template:First Council of the China Television Artists Association
Could you please check the links in Template:First Council of the China Television Artists Association? Four links to disambiguation pages and many links clearly incorrect (a quick check pointed me to a mechanical engineer, a war in the year 214, a fictional character, an archer and a calligrapher living around the year 1050). This is not okay and needs to be addressed soon. The Banner talk 14:21, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot. I have already seen this problem, but the workload for solving the problem is actually quite heavy. For example, the pinyin name Ding Lang actually corresponds to a very large number of Chinese names, which correspond to dozens of characters who have passed away or are still alive. It should be said that Wikipedia is still very short of entries for Chinese characters, and I'm trying to figure out how to increase disambiguation while creating as much content as possible for these characters. Suggestion to rename Aid Tibet Development Foundation
Hi @TinaLees-Jones,
Hope all is well. The name "Aid Tibet Development Foundation" does not make good sense in English to me. If there is not an official English translation for the foundation's name (which I don't see in the sources), may I suggest "Foundation of Aiding Tibetan Development"? Cheers, --The Lonely Pather (talk) 01:48, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your suggestion. I have updated the name to "Tibet Development Fund". However, since the foundation primarily targets a specific audience inside China and is not open to fundraising in Western countries, I have been unable to find an appropriate official introduction in English. Non-attributed translations
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from zh:拉萨河大桥 (青藏铁路) to another page. Sample wording for this is given here. If you forgot, or were not aware of this requirement, attribution must be given retroactively, for example:
NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.
Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit; see Repairing insufficient attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively, even if it was a long time ago. Hi thanks for creating this article. When we translate or borrow from other language wikis it’s a requirement to acknowledge the source. The best way to do this is to include it in your edit summary (e.g. “translated from zh.wiki”) and there’s also a translation template you can add to the talk page. I’ve added it for you. Wikipedia and copyright
Hello TinaLees-Jones! Your additions to 2024 state visit by Kais Saied to China have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 00:01, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- I appreciate you bringing up this. About the very limited statement of facts—who saw whom at what time—I have partially rewritten the material. Factual remarks also shouldn't violate copyright. As you pointed out, a joint statement between one nation and another is a diplomatic legal document; I do not believe that citing one sentence or a few words from it compromises international diplomacy. Legal papers by themselves also lack copyright protection. TinaLees-Jones (talk) 09:57, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, TinaLee-Jones. Limited statements of facts are OK. Paragraphs copy and pasted from press-releases are not OK. You did not copy and paste from a "diplomatic legal document" with no copyright protections- you took from a Singaporean news article and a Chinese government press release. Both of these seemingly have legal protection - both here in the United States and in their home countries.
- There is a module designed for students learning to edit Wikipedia. Please take it. https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/training/editing-wikipedia/plagiarism . You seem to have had a few issues with attribution, plagiarism, and copyright. This module is mostly focused on the plagiarism aspect, but hopefully it will help you.
- And please do not remove the copyright violation tag. Only administrators should be removing those tags. I have added it back to the article. Thank you. GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 02:18, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- I much appreciate your comments and accusations. Should your interest be piqued, visit Article 5 of the People's Republic of China's Copyright Law covers all that fits for non-protection:
- (a) Laws, regulations, resolutions, decisions, orders of state organs and other documents of a legislative, administrative or judicial nature, and their official official translations;
- (ii) Mere factual information;
- (iii) Calendars, generalized lists of numbers, generalized forms and formulas.
- Of course, the media reporting these facts and legal documents wouldn't be solely copyrighted. Naturally, I know little about US law, thus I am clearly not qualified to defend it if this kind of decision has to be taken by Americans. TinaLees-Jones (talk) 12:32, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
