The 2025 New York Yankees season will be the 123rd season for the New York Yankees franchise. They will enter the season as the defending American League champions, the American League East champions, and runners-up of the 2024 World Series .
This season will be the first full season on Yankees' radio station WFAN - and on the Yankeees Radio Network in general - for Dave Sims , who was appointed in the offseason to replace the team's long time radio voice John Sterling , who was in the role for many years.
November 2 – declined to exercise the 2025 option clause of first baseman Anthony Rizzo , allowing him to become a free agent .[ 1]
November 8 – exercised the 2025 option clause of manager Aaron Boone , allowing him to remain with the team.[ 2]
December 10 – signed left-handed starting pitcher Max Fried from the Atlanta Braves to an 8-year, $218 million deal.[ 3]
December 11 – re-sign right-handed relief pitcher Jonathan Loáisiga to a one-year deal with a team option for 2026.[ 4]
