Kayden,[3] also known as Kayden Break,[2] and Casein Natrium in his cat form,[1] is the deuteragonist of the manhwa, Eleceed. He is one of, if not the most powerful Awakened human(s) in the world. Unanimously recognized by the world's top ten strongest, until officially joining their ranks by defeating and subsequently killing a now former/deceased member of the top 10, Astra and seriously injuring and defeating another one of the top 10 who is apart of Frame, Andrei. He is the strongest unaffiliated awakener who is world renowned for constantly seeking battle with the strongest. Due to being heavily injured as a result of being ambushed by 3 members of the top 10, he needed to hide in order to heal and recover his original strength, he was forced to transform into a cat and can only maintain his human form by spending his energy.
Currently a member of the World's Top 10, his main ability is Electrokinesis, though he can also transform into a cat and use Spatial Isolation. Currently, Kayden lives with Jiwoo as he recovers his power and energy. He is currently training Jiwoo. Shortly after his fight against Astra (a former top 10 ranker), whom Kayden killed, Kayden has now began to be officially recognized as a member of the top 10.
Background[]
Not much is known about Kayden's family or history, however, he has the reputation of being a strong Awakened despite being independent. He is a loner who lives in search of tough and powerful opponents. He is known to ruthlessly destroy anyone standing in his way, earning him the nickname of Break.[4] There were many groups who wanted to work with him, but he turned them all down. He thinks that it's too bothersome to join a group because he wouldn't be able to fight freely. He is self taught and learned to control high-level force control abilities on his own. Among the World's top 10 Guestella is the person Kayden acknowledges the most, because she is the only among the World's top 10 who accepted his challenge to fight.
After getting into a fight with the top three of 10 world greatest awakened members, where he was ganged up upon, he was forced to attempt to transform into a fat ginger tabby cat while he was heavily wounded and needed to hide as he recovered. After that, he can only stay in human form for a limited amount of time.

Human Form[]
Kayden has a pale complexion and long black-bluish hair which he usually ties it up in a bun, a ponytail or a half up half down hairstyle. He has narrow grey slit eyes, but when using his electric abilities, his eyes become enveloped with lightning. He has a tall, slim and athletic build and his face is extremely handsome to the point his 'enemies admitted he was good-looking', which made him popular.[5] This was also proven to be true when Miyoung Ko, who thought the rumors bluffed his good-looks admitted he was 'way hotter in person'.[6]
In Episode 1 and in multiple flashbacks into Kayden's past, he is seen wearing a long green jacket with a hoodie and a plain white ripped-shirt accompanied with black pants and shoes. His current and main attire consists of a plain dark blue button-up polo shirt tucked in his black pants and dress shoes, which may be borrowed clothes from Jiwoo.[2][7]
Cat Form[]
Kayden in his cat form is called Casein Nitrate and has white and orange fur with darker orange stripes around his body. He is a tabby cat and has quite an ordinary appearance for a cat other than the fact that he is immensely obese. Although his human form is quite skinny. He has broad shoulders and some muscle but thin arms and legs quite ironically. A veterinarian once said that Kayden needed to diet. Although Kayden in his cat form is very large, it doesn't seem to affect his stamina much.
Personality[]
Kayden is passionate about fighting and is infamous for challenging any and all strong awakeners. He used to be a brash loner and refused to take any disciples, even those who pledged to become his slaves. After meeting Jiwoo, Kayden has become less harsh and more controlled of his usual brash temper- although this excludes those who threaten his pride, or anyone threatening Jiwoo. Due to having defeated many of the world's strongest known awakeners, he no longer challenges anyone recklessly. Kayden is also very confident and often refers to himself in the third person to emphasize his greatness.[8] Kayden cares for Jiwoo and will punish anyone who dares to harm him.[9] He is cautious as to not let his identity be revealed and is even willing to place those he cares about over his own pride, going as far as begging Shinhwa to heal Jiwoo when he was abducted and subsequently tortured as a result of having a connection to Kayden.

Trivia[]
- Kayden is one of the few characters that does not have a last name. Break is a title given to him due to the destruction he causes around him, though people often thought of it as Kayden's surname.
- He does not know his own age or birthday.[10]
- Jiyoung Yoo stated that Jiwoo's force control (the force control Kayden taught him) is 'probably even high-level', which meant Kayden's method (who he did not teach anyone the method other than Jiwoo) is extremely powerful and effective.[11]
- The name Casein Natrium essentially means "Salty Milk". “Milk Bomb.” Casein is a protein commonly found in a mammal’s milk.[12] Natrium is the Latin name for sodium, which means salt.[13] WEBTOON incorrectly translated the name as Casein Nitrate, Nitrate is an ion commonly found in fertilizers and bombs.[14]

- Although well-known and unabashedly an asshole to almost everyone 99% of the time, he seems to greatly respect Jiwoo’s mother, going as far as to properly do up his hair and speak very politely to her during his first interaction with her. This was so out of character that even Kartein made a point to call out Kayden's odd and anxious behavior even though he has no qualms with picking fights with even members of the top 10.
