2024 Study Leave application

Here is the information needed for the study leave applications for 2025-26. We have set an internal VSE deadline of September 18 so that the VSE executive committee can review the applications before we send them to the Dean’s office.

Please see the attached document for the full details but I have put the key four item checklist below. Please ask me if you have any questions.  
 
Leave applications must include the following items:
 
1. leave application form (available on the HR website)
2. one-page project description that provides explicit objectives and anticipated contribution of the work to be carried out during the leave
3. copy of the previous (study or PD) leave report (if applicable)
4. up-to-date CV and Publication Record (UBC CV format)

September VSE School Meeting

Our Fall 2024 VSE School Meeting is in IONA 533 at 3:30pm on Monday September 10th.

UPDATE to VSE Building Entry – August, 24, 2021

Please note the Iona building will be open from 7:30am until 5pm daily and closed on weekends. The new hours will begin August 30, 2021. Any UBC student who is enrolled in a course at Iona that begins at 5pm or later will have building access for the duration of their class via their student card.

After hours access to the building for BIE students will be reinstated when the term begins.    –Building Operations and Access Services

Monday to Friday

8AM–3:30PM

Please call 604 822 9495 to inquire about your mail before going there.

Update to VSE Building Entry – Nov. 27, 2020

Please use the new online form which can be accessed via the QR code poster located in the main lobby/entrance.

Please follow the instructions below to fill out and submit the online form:

Direct access to the online form page

  1. With your smartphone or tablet, scan the QR code posted on the whiteboard inside the main entrance of the building so that the form page will automatically open (see QR code poster attached).
  2. If you cannot use the QR code or the QR code does not work, open a browser on your device and go to https://econ.air.arts.ubc.ca/iona-facilities/building-access-during-covid-19/access-confirmation/
  3. Log in with your CWL credentials.
  4. Enter the form.

(1)   Your name and email address will be filled automatically.

(2)   Select which floor of the building you are accessing.

(3)   Select “Entering” when arriving and “Exiting” when leaving the building.

(4)   If you are entering the building, check “I understand and meet the requirements for entry” and click “Submit”.

(5)   If you are exiting the building, click “Submit”.

  1. Your information will automatically be sent to Patrick and Angela, and logged in the database.
  2. Please remember to complete the form when you enter and leave the building.
