Smart Classrooms in Dongguan University of Technology
Dongguan University of Technology is the first general undergraduate college in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, China. Dr. Yang Zhenning, a Nobel Prize winner in physics, is the honorary president. There are two campuses respectively in Songshan Lake and Guancheng, of which Songshan Lake Campus is located at No. 1 University Road, Songshan Lake High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
As a high-level science and engineering university supported by Guangdong Province, Dongguan University of Technology aims to continuously improve the level of curriculum construction, deepen the reform of education and teaching, and improve the quality of teaching.

Constructing a new digital teaching environment: The college hopes to integrate whiteboards, projectors, and remote teaching devices to improve teaching efficiency and user experience. The teacher can complete the intelligent switching of IoT sensing devices with one click based on the teaching scenario. In addition, the wireless network coverage is expected to construct a digital environment where students can learn everywhere and promote the construction of a new smart classroom network.
This project aims to build a smart classroom. In addition to building an advanced intelligent environment and a digital environment where students can learn anytime and anywhere, this project also helps the school implement innovative teaching methods such as hybrid teaching based on the teaching cloud platform, allowing students to obtain better digital learning experience. It also helps administrators manage and evaluate teaching more efficiently through teaching data in a more scientific way.
Based on teaching display and interaction devices, recording/live video collection devices, and IoT management and control devices, the high-quality campus network seamlessly connects teaching scenarios. The online and offline integrated interactive teaching solution implements functions such as dual-screen teaching, multi-screen and multi-terminal interaction, and multi-group comparison. It can be applied to education scenarios such as interaction, live broadcast, recording, resource sharing, teaching management, and online teaching and research, enriching teaching methods, improving teaching effects, and facilitating teaching transformation.
Real-time interaction with and feedback from colleges and universities supports precise teaching. Data records are provided throughout the class to quantify students' performance. With HUAWEI IdeaHub as the teaching entry and the collaboration of software and hardware ecosystem, multiple innovative teaching methods are available, such as group teaching and remote synchronous classroom, improving the student interaction rate by 62%. With high-quality campus network, the network rate is improved by 95%, and the campus intranet and resources are seamlessly connected to create an all-optical network experience, enabling quick download, viewing, and use of massive teaching resources.
Seamless online and offline learning and multimedia interactive teaching help students deepen their knowledge. The resource on-demand system expands the application scenarios of learning resources. The average number of online on-demand courses per semester increases by 60%.
