Sialocele
Salivary Mucocele
A sialocele, also known as a salivary mucocele, is an accumulation of saliva trapped within the tissues of the duck's bill, which has leaked out as a result of damage, infection or malfunctioning of the salivary glands. It is considered an emergency condition in ducks, as it can cause permanent damage to the bill and/or salivary gland if it is not treated by a veterinarian promptly.
