The Peaoni Brothers are minor antagonists in the Big Idea franchise, VeggieTales. They are portrayed by the French Peas, Jean Claude and Phillippe.
Background[]
The Peaoni Brothers are part of the wanted list and their wanted posters are on the wall. Later, they are plotting to kill King Xerxes in order to take the throne. Bigthan pretends to be a baker, using a wedding cake as a bait, while Teresh holds a piano with a rope and pulley in order to drop it at the victim. Mordecai and Esther warn the King about the trap, and Xerxes moves away. The piano then falls onto the cake, but misses the King. Haman then orders Mordecai to seize the criminals, which Mordecai succeeds in doing. The Peaoni Brothers are then revealed to be the most wanted peas in Persia, and for their punishment, Haman banishes them to the Island of Perpetual Tickling. The narrator then explains that in Persia, attempting to drop a piano on a King's head and appearing before him uninvited are both serious crimes, and these two learned it the hard way.
Despite this, this gives Haman the idea of trying to get Mordecai and family banished the same way, telling him they were much worse than the Peaoni brothers. However, Xerxes learns that they never actually thanked Mordecai for saving him from the Peaoni brothers. Not only did Mordecai receive a parade, but Esther finally had the courage to reveal Haman's true nature.
Personality[]
They are very egotistical, since they wanted to take the throne of the king and they are even willing to kill him, since they are selfish.
Physical Appearance[]
Bigthan wears a baker hat in order to pretend to be a baker, while Teresh wears a hat resembling a fedora.
Trivia[]
- In the original Book of Esther, Bigthan and Teresh were only talking about their plot. They were never said to be brothers, and they were hanged but since VeggieTales is a children's series, their punishment was changed to a place where people are tickled endlessly.
