About Program

Objective:

The objective of this program is to provide opportunities for women professionals to pivot their careers towards digital marketing and open up a world of new opportunities for their careers and businesses.

Approach:

DigiPivot, in its fifth edition, encompasses a well-curated virtual learning program and engagement that aims to empower the participants with digital marketing knowledge and tools as well as mentorship on strategic leadership skills. The participants will go through sessions on core digital marketing skills and strategies that will be hosted by senior faculty from ISB.

Senior leaders from Google will mentor the cohort, guiding them through experiential segments including case study challenges. Avtar will facilitate sessions on career intentionality, the tenets of which are critical to charting sustainable careers. As an organisation that has been the front-runner in shaping the path for women professionals in India, Avtar is proud of its association with Google and ISB Executive Education for this program.

As the program's Industry Partners, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has developed bespoke learning content that will be delivered to cohort members throughout DigiPivot 2024. This will include real-world digital marketing strategies that are employed on some of the world's biggest brands, case studies and comprehensive mentorship from HUL leaders.

For women returning post a break, OfExperiences will provide career clarity through their Career Driver Assessment and workshops - that helps the participants recognize their preferences and prepares them for a suitable career.

Why DigiPivot?

In the Global Gender Gap Report by World Economic Forum, India is ranked at 127 of the 146 countries reviewed. As per National Family Health Survey (NFHS), Women in India constitute 48 per cent of the population, but contribute only 18 per cent to the gross domestic product (GDP) of the country. The study further established that advancing gender equality could potentially lead to a 30 per cent increase in India’s GDP.

According to a recent study conducted by Avtar, the annual attrition rate for women in India is 26% and close to half of Indian women, professionals quit work before they turn 30. The employable talent pool of second career women (women on career breaks) in urban India is estimated to be as wide as 7 million. According to the first-ever study (2017) on the rights of transgenders by the National Human Rights Commission, about 92 percent of transgenders are deprived of the right to participate in any form of economic activity in India, with even qualified ones refused jobs. With the evolution of big data and the availability of in-depth consumer information, 2020 was expected to generate over 20 lakh digital marketing jobs and the number of opportunities created every year in the digital marketing industry is expected to exponentially increase, going forward in India.

With the expertise of Google, Avtar, ISB and HUL, this program aims to enable - Digital Marketing pivots for women professionals. The DigiPivot journey will begin with registrations in June 2024 followed by over 80 hours of online e-learnings, webinars and mentorship, culminating with a virtual graduation event. Upon graduation from the program, the cohort members will be inducted into the esteemed DigiPivot alumni network.

Having been instrumental in creating career opportunities for more than 1,00,000 women, Avtar will assist and hand hold until selected cohort members complete their learning journeys successfully.

Through DigiPivot, Google, Avtar, ISB and HUL aim to continue a growing effort to close the digital gender gap by empowering women professionals across the country.
