"Winnie the Pooh" is the opening song and theme for the 1966 featurette film Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, and eventually, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. It was also used as background music in the Kingdom Hearts series and rearranged in Welcome to Pooh Corner with different lyrics. It was written by the Sherman Brothers, who had written a number of Pooh songs.
The song was included on the VHS Disney Sing Along Songs: The Bare Necessities and Sing a Song with Pooh Bear. It has been included as a bonus feature on the DVD, Growing Up with Winnie the Pooh: A Great Day of Discovery.
The song was also performed by Carly Simon. A music video was released for this version and it was included on the DVD and Blu-ray releases of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

Trivia
- In the version arranged by Tutti Camarata for the 1965 LP album of Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, the line "There's Rabbit and Piglet and there's Owl" is said as "There's Rabbit, there's Piglet, and there's Owl".
- In the late 1980s re-recording of the song used on some read-alongs and albums (usually releases aimed at children), the lyric "Tubby little cubby" is changed to "Chubby little cubby."
- When the original song was written, Tigger did not appear in Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, hence his exclusion from the song. In the 2011 Winnie the Pooh film, Tigger was added in the lyric, "and Kanga, and little Roo (and Tigger too!)"
- However, this did not stop them from excluding Piglet, who also did not appear in Honey Tree. At the time the song was written, Piglet was originally intended to be replaced by Gopher, before the decision was made to have both of them live in tandem in the final version.
- In the documentary film Pursuing Happiness, Richard Sherman recalled when a college student asked him how much money he made from the song. He said that during the Baby Jessica incident in 1987, Jessica asked her mother from the well to sing this song to her to help her feel better, saying that if Winnie the Pooh could get out of a tight spot, she can too.
- The reprise version sung by the Walt Disney chorus is heard at the end of Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree.
