Welcome to the Kingdom is the opening song of the musical adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It is first played during the opening of the musical where the Evil Queen and the First King are introduced with a choir singing throughout the opening sequence used as the musical's opening act. A reprise of the song is heard when Snow White encounters the King when she dances with him (which was not included in the official soundtrack of the album). A finale reprise, "Here's the Happy Ending", is heard during the end of the musical just before the song loops into a reprise of "Someday My Prince Will Come".
Lyrics[]
Welcome to the kingdom of once upon a time
Welcome to the kingdom of once upon a time
Welcome to the kingdom of once upon a time
Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome
Welcome to the kingdom of once upon a time
Land of stately castles of rainbows and of rhyme
Land of magic mirrors and wishing wells that sing
Princes on white horses and wise, kindhearted kings
Woods to walk to, birds to talk to
Songs for dancing, sweet romancing
Welcome to the kingdom that children never leave
Welcome to the kingdom, oh, let's all make-believe
Let's all make-believe!
Welcome!
Now you're in the kingdom of once upon a time
Land of stately castles of rainbows and of rhyme
Once you're in the kingdom, you should be ought to sing
Welcome to the kingdom to win a perfect king
To win a perfect king
Here's the happy ending of once upon a time
Oh many down the castle and candlelight and wine
That's our happy ending and now it's time to leave
A comeback to the kingdom, oh, let's all make-believe!
(cue to reprise of "Someday My Prince Will Come")
