"Third Wheel" is the seventeenth episode of Mickey Mouse.
Synopsis[]
Mickey and Minnie are on a romantic dinner, but Goofy keeps interrupting.
Plot[]
Mickey and Minnie are enjoying a romantic, candlelit dinner date at a fancy restaurant when an uninvited Goofy sidles up to join them at their table, having misinterpreted Mickey's words about "them going out", which actually referred to him and Minnie rather than him and Goofy.
Goofy goes on to annoy the couple (along with the restaurant's other guests) by speaking loudly, dropping a few flaming logs onto the table (mistaking them for "soft candlelight"), chasing down the mice on horseback, hogtying them with a spaghetti lasso stolen from Lady and Tramp's spaghetti meal (for intimacy), serenading them with saxophone "mood music" and rudely eating their dinner. But the straw that finally breaks the proverbial camel's back is when Goofy inadvertently swallows Minnie whole.
Mickey, with his patience exhausted, then reasons with Goofy, making it clear that the couple just wants a romantic dinner alone. Getting the meaning, Goofy acquiesces and we at last see the happy couple dining alone. But as it turns out, they aren't exactly alone as they are now dining inside Goofy's belly as he softly plays the violin.

- This episode aired on the same day as the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episode "Minnie-rella".
- At the start of the episode, the song "Someday My Prince Will Come" from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs can be heard playing over both the title card and the background.
- Running gag: When the restaurant patrons keep shushing at Mickey and Minnie for being noisy. Fortunately, this running gag is broken when Mickey finally loses his patience, ordering the patrons to "Shush yourselves!"
