Sir Francis Tremaine was the first late husband of Lady Tremaine, and the biological father of Anastasia and Drizella.
Physical appearance[]
Francis was a fairly tall, somewhat scrawny-looking man with straight, brown hair with curved bangs and large feet that have been passed on to his daughters. He wore a white long-sleeve, folded-collar shirt, a dark gray long-sleeve vest, a red tie with dark blue stripes, beige pants, and black shoes.
Appearances[]
Cinderella[]
According to Lady Tremaine, she and Francis had married for love, and she even viewed him as the light of her life. He was the Master of the Mercer's Guild and knew Ella's father briefly. It was through this acquaintance that Ella's father learned of his death later on, and in turn, led him to ask for the widowed Lady Tremaine's hand in marriage. Francis' death was one of the most prominent factors as to why she was so gloomy, bitter, mercenary, and easily jealous.
Printed material[]
He is mentioned in So This is Love (A Twisted Tale), as just Lord Tremaine. He had squandered the Tremaine family fortune, and also got killed in war.
In Cold Hearted, he was named Lord Francis Tremaine, and he and Lady Tremaine were happily married. He had bought a brooch for his wife (which was donated to a curiosity shop by Captain Hook), along with the Book of Fairy Tales. He died when Anastasia and Drizella were very young, leaving his wife to raise the girls on her own.
In the Twisted Tale novella The Envelope, he is just called Francis Tremaine, and in the book, Anastasia travels to his hometown to find more info about him.
In The Wicked Ones, he is just called Monsieur Tremaine, and only appears in the opening chapter, leaving his family and calling off his marriage. His desertion kicks off the plot of the book.
Trivia[]
- The mention of his name contradicts the information given previously in the Disney Villains: Top Secret Files, which had stated that he's Anastasia's and Drizella's father's last name was "Tremaine".
