Deever orders her men to search the building, and Nakia joins the Sheikh's side to deny them permission. Deever suggests to Abdullah that it would be in his best interest to cooperate, but Nakia and Sheikh Abdullah affirm their positions, and he ask that she return, when she has a signed warrant. Sometime later, a local enhanced individual escapes the DODC prison, and a search for him goes underway. Abdullah finds Agent Deever and her men have returned to the mosque, and the attendants present their ID's, before she can formally request for them herself. Abdullah notes they already have prior experience, to interacting with Damage Control. Deever provides a description of the escaped prisoner, with features that apply to most members of the mosque, and Abdullah informs Deever it may take a while. He offers her Rasheed's freshly baked cookies, but Deever snaps at him for stalling, and warns of the consequences in abetting a suspect. He in turns provides a quote, on staying by God's side, and Deever walks past him, to search the building, dismissing what she believes to be a Quranic verse, but he clarifies, it was stated by Abraham Lincoln.[3]
Unbeknownst to Deever, Abdullah had the DODC's missing supsect, Kamran, hidden away in a secret room, alongside his friend, Bruno Carrelli, who was assisting him. Before it can crush Abdullah and the others, Night Light uses her embiggened hands to take hold of it, saving the group. Kamran releases a surge of energy, which produces a large scale of crystalline constructs everywhere, but Night Light manages to placate him, and he manages to escape.
