Trivia[]
- This Mickey Mouse special marks the first to be in stop-motion of a few things:
- However, it isn't the first time Mickey has appeared in stop-motion; three years prior, he and the gang appeared in two shorts of stop-motion Christmas interstitial on Disney Jr..
- This is the first stop-motion not to have Donald played by Daniel Ross and the first stop-motion to have Tony Anselmo playing Donald.
- This is also the first stop-motion not to have Daisy played by Tress MacNeille.
- The cuckoo clock bird resembles Cuckoo-Loca, who ironically doesn’t appear in person.
- This is the first special where Debra Wilson voices Daisy. Tress MacNeille doesn't reprise her role since she’s too busy with other projects.
- This takes place in the same universe as the Roadster Racers/Mixed-Up Adventures/Funhouse series in the location of Hot Dog Hills. Despite this not being associated with the Disney Jr. canon, the special is written and set to feel more oriented towards younger children.
- The three voice-acted kids: Susie (wants soccer ball), Pearl (wants stroller for her doll) and Elray (wants train) are characters from Mickey and the Roadster Racers (later re-titled Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures), voiced by their original voice actors.
- The other four children's names who are mentioned are all from Roadster Racers as well: Bitsy (wants a doctor bag), Buddy (wants a race car), Cleo (wants a doll) and Clifford (wants a teddy bear), although unlike the first three they, aren't seen/heard/credited.
- Paul Rudish's Mickey Mouse can briefly be seen in Santa's workshop as a picture.
- On Ice can briefly be seen as two pictures in Mickey's cottage from the scenes from the short with Mickey and Minnie skating and Donald on the other.
- Pluto's Christmas Tree can briefly be seen as a photo in Mickey's cottage.
- The calendar in Mickey's cottage reads 1985, possibly because Christmas claymations were wildly popular at that time.
- A model of the steamboat from Steamboat Willie can briefly be seen in Mickey's cottage.
- The logo from the Pluto cartoons appears as a photo in Mickey's cottage.
- Similarly to Nickelodeon’s It’s a SpongeBob Christmas special, the stop-motion of this special was made by Stoopid Buddy Stoodios which is one of the studios that made the adult parody series Robot Chicken.
- Beginning in late 2023, a few additional scenes were added to the special, such as an extended scene of Jingle and Dolly's first approach when Santa Claus arrives with Mickey and the gang, the scene where Mickey and the gang fix Santa's old sleigh, and the post-credits scene where Pluto chases a squirrel inside the cabin. However, those scenes are still unavailable on Disney+.
