Bruce Reitherman is an American former child actor and voice actor, who provided the voices of Mowgli in The Jungle Book and Christopher Robin in Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree. He is also the son of animator Wolfgang Reitherman and the younger brother of Robert and Richard Reitherman.
Born in Burbank, California; Reitherman worked with his father at Disney. Despite voicing Christopher Robin in the first Winnie the Pooh featurette, commentators felt his voice was too American. While his speaking voice was redubbed by Jon Walmsley for the release of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, his sung parts remained intact thus he remained credited.
He graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 1977 with an independent major in Natural Resources and a minor in Spanish, subsequent work experience included stints as a river guide, field biologist, naturalist, expedition leader, and biological consultant. With his film experience, Reitherman worked on natural history productions in exotic locations from Alaska to Australia.
Starting out as a freelance cameraman in 1983, Reitherman has gone on to produce, direct, and write documentaries broadcast by PBS, National Geographic Television, The Discovery Channel, the BBC, and Canal Plus.
