"A Parrot's Life For Me" is a song featured in the House of Mouse episode "Thanks to Minnie". As the title suggests, it is a rendition of the song A Pirate's Life For Me from the Disney attraction Pirates of the Caribbean. It is sung by Iago (Gilbert Gottfried) and two other parrots.
Lyrics[]
Iago: Alright you bird brains hit it!
Yo ho, yo ho a parrot's life for me
We chirp and we sing
Repeat everything
We talk and squawk and squeal
We gossip and chat
And we chew the fat
And have crackers at every meal!
Iago says so, a parrot's life for me!
Take it from a bird
Don't repeat what you heard
Not every rumor is true!
Our feathers flap
We yap, yap yap
'Til our beaks are turning blue!
This blabbermouth, is flying south
A parrot's life for me!
Trivia[]
- Iago's dislike of crackers as reflected in the Aladdin franchise is subtly alluded in this song sequence, as during the song lyric We gossip and chat/And we chew the fat/And have crackers at every meal!, Iago is the only one of the three parrots not to eat the crackers; instead, he's the one who shoved the crackers into the other two parrots' mouths (as pictured on the page above).
