AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) Transparency and Adaptive Mode Issues - Firmware 7A294

A week ago out of nowhere, my AirPods started acting out. Whenever I was in Adaptive Mode or Transparency Mode and there is a sound/noise in the room, some degree of noice cancelation kicks in but only in the left AirPod. It makes them impossible to be used in these modes because the feeling is like constantly plugging and unplugging one of your ears.

At first I was confused and didn't know what might have caused the issue, but as far as I can tell the firmware update 7A294 was released a week ago - the same time as I started experiencing this issue. This leads me to believe that it's a software bug.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I've noticed an imbalance in the noise cancellation between the left and right ears too, but even more annoyingly the Airpods will completely disconnect from my iPhone. They usually reconnect a 4-5 seconds later, and this keeps happening over and over.

And just like you, this began with the new firmware (same day as the "glowtime" apple event). For me it only happens in adaptive mode, and only in noisy environments - so it does seem like a bug in the firmware that gets triggered by a loud noise.
