What is a woman’s place in a world that never stops changing? This is what a new choreographic work asks which will be presented this month at Rialto Theatre. Never Just I is Evie Demetriou’s bold solo performance that through movement, spoken word and emotion explores the roles of motherhood and daughterhood.
The performance will be staged twice in Limassol, on January 24 and 25 at 8.30pm. Bringing a deeply personal narrative to the floor, the dance piece unravels the unseen layers of female experience woven with sensitivity, humour and courage.
It also touches on a variety of themes such as identity, individuality and connection in an ever-changing world. Through powerful movement and thought-provoking storytelling, it challenges perceptions and invites audiences to reflect on their place in modern society.
On stage will be Demetriou, a choreographer and performer based in Cyprus. Her multidisciplinary approach – merging dance, theatre, performance art and film – reflects themes of social justice and the politics of care. Her work has been extensively showcased across Europe, as well as in Asia, Africa and the USA. This month, she kickstarts the 2025 cultural calendar with a powerful performance in Limassol.
