The creative team behind the production that captivated 12,000 spectators, STILL! – A Statue that Travelled the World, returns with Franz Kafka’s Doll. The production will take place as part of the 5th Nicosia International Festival, with two performances scheduled on February 8 and 9 at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre.
This is the second children’s production of this year’s festival, continuing its investment in nurturing the next generation of theatre enthusiasts in Nicosia. Franz Kafka’s Doll is brought to life by the award-winning team of Stavros Stavrou, Kostas Silvestros and Thodoris Economou.
The play is based on a magical – and for many, true – story that reminds audiences, “Whatever we love may be lost, but love will return in another form…”. The production promises to deliver a captivating experience filled with vivid imagery, live music and humour.
Set in Berlin in the autumn of 1923, the story begins in a park where a little girl weeps inconsolably over the loss of her doll. There, she encounters the famous author Franz Kafka, who reassures her that her doll is not lost, but has embarked on a grand journey to see the world. From that day on, the girl begins to receive letters from her doll – penned by Kafka – detailing her adventures across the globe.
