A Bowers acronym is a short name assosciated with a polytope coined by Jonathan Bowers. Bowers coined the names as the real names for many polytopes are very long. Bowers acronyms are derived from pieces of the polytope's long name (for example, "tes" comes from tesseract which is a 4 dimensional structure) and some polytopes have the same long and short name (for example, square and cube).
