Object history
Deutsch: In dem Gemeindewappen sind Elemente aus Wappen zweier Adelsgeschlechter vereint, die seit dem 14. Jahrhundert in Rugendorf nachweisbar sind und für die Geschichte der Gemeinde von Bedeutung waren. Das Einhorn stammt aus dem Wappen der Freiherren von Waldenfels, die um 1550 die Pfarrkirche und wenig später das neben der Kirche gelegene Schloss erbauten. Das Schloss kam 1628 an das Bistum Bamberg, wurde 1727 ein Getreidespeicher und dient heute als Wohnhaus. Die heraldische Rose stammt aus dem Wappen der Herren von Guttenberg, die im 18. Jahrhundert ihren Lehenbesitz in Rugendorf an das Hochstift Bamberg verloren.
