These elements of the state emblem and flag emphasize the importance of the city as the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan. On the right and left arches are bordered by stylized wings, and from below are decorated with elements of ancient Tajik decorative ornamentation. In the upper part of the coat of arms above the arch the inscription «Dushanbe». In the foreground of the coat of arms is placed a symbolic key to the city, on the background of an open book - a symbol of wisdom, science and education. The whole symbolic composition is placed in a square with a pointed lower edge on the background of three colors - red, white and green - symbolic image of the national flag of Tajikistan».
