Shortcut: COM:AN

This is a place where users can communicate with administrators, or administrators with one another. You can report vandalism, problematic users, or anything else that needs an administrator's intervention. Do not report child pornography or other potentially illegal content here; e-mail legal-reports@wikimedia.org instead. If reporting threatened harm to self or others also email emergency@wikimedia.org.

Report users for clear cases of vandalism. Block requests for any other reason should be reported to the blocks and protections noticeboard.


Report disputes with users that require administrator assistance. Further steps are listed at resolve disputes.


Reports that do not suit the vandalism noticeboard may be reported here. Requests for page protection/unprotection could also be requested here.


Other reports that require administrator assistance which do not fit in any of the previous three noticeboards may be reported here. Requests for history merging or splitting should be filed at COM:HMS.

Bot edit war

export a file from Commons

I would like to export this file File:ŌgaiYatarō-An Airman.png, which was originally uploaded on the Japanese Wikipedia by me, to jawiki but do not know how to do it. The file is PD in Japan but may be non-PD in US. At least we cannot rule its possibility out nevertheless User:真夢城（まゆき） carelessly imported it to Commons. In my knowledge only administrators can revert it to jawiki so that would someone please do it instead of me? HinokisOfRoma (talk) 12:30, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Presumably you can just get ja:ファイル:ŌgaiYatarō-An Airman.png undeleted on ja-wiki. I'm not an admin there, so I cannot examine the history of deleted files there. - Jmabel ! talk 19:09, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have created User:Red link example for use in documentation and testing.

Can someone kindly permanently protect the user and talk pages, with an edit summary noting that purpose?

DR close request

Could an admin take a look at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Fuengirola - Monumento Juan Gómez González, 'Juanito' 2.jpg and determine whether it can be closed? No additional comments have been made more than a month, and I don't think that there's going to be a sudden increase in comments if the DR continues to remain open. I'm not advocating in favor of a particular close; just asking that it be assessed and then closed as the administrator sees fit. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:24, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
