Moving forward

I’ve been looking at these old art journals for the first time in years. They were my blog, Notion, Ulysses, Pocket and Instagram before any of those things existed, and they represent a version of me that I really like. I’d worked so much out and found a clear path, on my way to something else entirely. And then I left it all behind.

I’ve been feeling creatively unfulfilled for a few years, pursuing various leads, but everything I needed was in these pages all along. It’s overwhelming to realise that what mattered then matters now, that my deepest interests and thoughts have meaning and value. By looking back, I see how to move forward.
