Expanding

Having felt creatively withdrawn for a few years, I recently turned to Geri and concluded, “It’s time for me to stop shrinking and start expanding again.” This epiphany came after I learned, by revisiting old journals, that I should focus on the things that have always given me energy. And so, I was particularly encouraged by this wisdom from Ethan Hawke:

If you get close to what you love, who you are is revealed to you, and it expands.

I love that, and will carry it with me. Hawke also does a great job of explaining why art matters.
