So I want to do it on my own droplet server, static site generator most likely with just a little bit of (offline) dynamic things, like push to Mastodon, or to a book review fediverse page. [tantek] it sounds like you're comfortable with going under the hood a bit with your personal site setup, with managing a server, and setting up systems to trigger rebuilds. you may find more discussions on those topics in the #indieweb-dev channel too!
