Donating to the City Paper is good for local news. Over the last year, we’ve been recognized at state and national levels for what we do:
National awards: Cartoonist Robert Ariail and columnist Andy Brack won first place awards from the Association of Alternative Newsmedia in national contests of news excellence. All totaled, the newspaper won five awards in the contest.
S.C. news excellence: The City Paper won 25 awards for news excellence for its 2022 work, including first places for community service, freedom of information editorial, cartoon, column writing, lifestyle writing and food writing as well as for personality photograph, photo series, use of social media and news video. Its annual Best of Charleston section also won best special section.
S.C. advertising excellence: The City Paper also won 16 major advertising awards from the S.C. Press Association, including artist Dela O’Callaghan being named best designer for the second year in a row.
Thank you.
