Miles Evans is the CEO and founding Partner of Clairmont. He brings a wealth of experience in Trust and Wealth Management, spanning over 26 years with expertise in managing complex trust and company structures involving illiquid assets and operating businesses for international families. At Clairmont, Miles plays a pivotal role in preserving and growing the wealth of families through strategic structuring and management.

James Hoar

LLB, MBA, TEP

James Hoar is a founding Partner at Clairmont and has been advising international families on how to optimize complex planning and investment opportunities for over 30 years. James serves ultra-high net worth, multi-jurisdictional families, almost all of whom have a cross-border US relationships. Throughout his career, James has demonstrated his commitment to excellence and has lived and worked in The Bahamas, the UK, Uruguay, and Southeast Asia. James currently resides in Toronto, Canada, with his wife of nearly 30 years and grown-up daughters.

James F. Stewart

James Stewart, widely known as Jimmy, is a founding Partner at Clairmont, leveraging his expertise to advise ultra-high net worth family groups in Latin America on investment and wealth structuring solutions. James has served as a director of the Family Firm Institute and various privately held companies in Latin America. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, James is based in Miami with his wife and two children.

John H. Jephson

John Jephson is a founding Partner at Clairmont and brings extensive expertise in advising ultra-high net worth families. With fluency in English, French, and Spanish. John's multicultural background and experiences contribute to his ability to effectively cater to the needs of Clairmont’s global clients. He lives in Boston with his wife and two sons.

Clairmont Trust is agnostic to jurisdictions and service families from three operating centers: Bahamas, where they use their legacy and experience to service offshore jurisdictions and Common Law trusts, The United States, where they service families with US needs and connections since 2017, from Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Switzerland, where they provide full trustee services, relationship management, as well as corporate and other administrative services, from Geneva.

Today, the firm is led by a small team of Partners, each a senior professional with over 25 years prior experience working in some of the world’s top wealth management and fiduciary services firms, including JP Morgan, Bank of America, Royal Bank of Canada, UBS, Société Générale, EFG International and Coutts & Co. The firm has grown steadily, adding offices in other key centres, and deepening its teams of professionals, to support the evolving needs of clients.
