Serin/treonin-protein kinaza MRCK alfa je enzim tkojeg kod ljudi kodira gen CDC42BPA.[5] Protein kojeg kodira ovaj gen član je porodice serin /[[treonin protein kinaza. Ova kinaza sadrži više funkcionalnih domena. Njegov kinazni domen vrlo je sličan domenu protein kinazi miotonusne distrofije (DMPK). Ova kinaza također sadrži domen interaktivnog vezanja Rac (CRIB) a pokazano je da veže CDC42. Može funkcionirati kao CDC42 nizvodni efektor, koji posreduje CDC42, induciranim perifernom aktinskom formacijom i promovirajući citoskeletnu reorganizaciju. Opisano je više alternativno spojenih varijanti transkripta, a zabilježena je i priroda cijele dužine dvije od njih.[5]
