THANK YOU

You may not know who they are, but there are those who carry thankful memories of your actions like treasures tucked away in a pouch. One of them is about to start leaving you tiny, anonymous gifts.

Is it a spirit? A crow? A tiny person living under your floorboards?

As you consider the gifts and the clues left behind, you’ll come to understand who it is, and the reason for their gratitude.

Five Tiny Gifts is a solo journaling game created for the 2024 One Page RPG Jam. You play the game by yourself, thinking about and writing down answers to the questions posed about the mysterious gifts you're receiving.

There are three versions of the game available:

  • Bag version: a two-sided sheet that can be folded into a small bag to contain the gifts. The folding instructions are provided in the video on this webpage.
  • Digital version: a one-sided sheet that includes a method for randomly determining your five gifts.
  • Google Doc version: the content of the digital version, presented for use with screen readers.

To play this game you will need:

  • a journaling method
  • a deck of playing cards
  • five tiny objects (only needed for the "bag version" of the game)

Time to play: 30–60 minutes.

Thanks for the educator copies! I teach writing to elementary school kids and this will be fun for them.
