New Series: Studien zur Historischen Musikpädagogik

This series focuses on the history of music education, edited by Bernd Clausen, Stefan Hörmann, and Alexander Cvetko. It bridges past practices with contemporary music education. The second volume, Einflüsse auf institutionelles musikpädagogisches Handeln by Matthias Goebel, explores the development of 19th-century music schools, curriculum design, and gendered teaching conventions. Two volumes have been published to date.

New Series: Rostocker Hochschulschriften zu Musik und Theater

This series explores specialized and interdisciplinary topics, reflecting the diversity of academic work at artistically oriented universities. Edited by Matthias Dreyer, Benjamin Lang, Oliver Krämer, and Friederike Wißmann, it spans musicology, theater pedagogy, and music education. The second volume, Historical Resonances: Space, Senses and Early Music, examines early music's spatial and sensory dimensions. With two volumes published, a third is expected in May.

Leonore und Fidelio Named Book of the Month by Opernwelt in 2024

Helga Lühning's Leonore und Fidelio: Vorträge und Aufsätze zu Beethovens Oper was named Opernwelt's Book of the Month in 2024. This study examines Beethoven's only opera, exploring its dramaturgy, composition, and impact on 19th-century opera. Praised for its insights, the book is the first in 40 years to analyze Fidelio's three versions and extensive sources. Opernwelt lauds Lühning as the leading expert on this work, making it essential for Beethoven scholars and opera enthusiasts.
