- This classic recipe uses canned green beans - though you can use frozen green beans or fresh, you'll just want to blanch them for 3 minutes before adding them to the casserole dish.
- Campbell's cream of mushroom soup - you can substitute other canned soup like cream of celery soup or cream or chicken soup. They would work as well, but it would not give you those classic flavors.
- Evaporated milk - heavy cream, half and half or even whole milk would work!
- Soy sauce and black pepper for additional flavor.
- French-fried onions - I use store-bought, but if you'd like make your own crunchy fried onions, try this recipe!
Creative variations to try
- Add in fresh mushrooms, mmm! I like to reserve a handful of sliced sautéed mushrooms to top the casserole.
- For the cheese lovers out there, top with a cup of shredded cheese. We love sharp white cheddar cheese - it's delicious!
- Crumbled bacon mixed with fried onions is fantastic.

- Pre-heat the oven. Spray baking dish with non stick cooking spray.
- Open cans of green beans. Drain well. Place in casserole dish.
- Whisk together the evaporated milk, cream of mushroom soup, soy sauce and black pepper. Pour the soup mixture over green beans.
- Top with the fried onions and bake.
- Allow to stand 10 minutes before serving.

Campbells green bean casserole recipe can be assembled ahead of time. However. don't add the fried onions until you are ready to bake it.
- For easy clean-up after Thanksgiving dinner, use a disposable foil pan to make this dish.
- If you are using frozen green beans be sure to steam or blanche being added them to your casserole dish. Additionally, you may need to add more seasonings if you are using frozen green beans.
How to store leftovers
Refrigerator: It can be stored in the fridge for up to five days. Be sure to wrap your leftovers tightly in plastic wrap, foil o replace in an airtight container.
Freezer: It can be frozen for up to three months. Be sure to tightly seal your casserole dish to prevent freezer burn.
Reheat: Reheat single servings in the microwave for 30 seconds to one minute. Or to reheat larger servings, bake in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes.

Campbell Soup Green Bean Casserole
Ingredients
- 59 ounces canned green beans 4 cans of green beans - you can add an additional can if desired.
- 21 ounces cream of mushroom soup 2 cans of 10.5 ounces cream soup
- ⅔ cup evaporated milk
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- ½ black pepper
- 2 cups fried onions
Instructions
- Pre heat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare baking dish by spraying with non stick cooking spray.
- Open the cans of beans. Drain well. Place in casserole dish.
- Whisk together the evaporated milk and cream of mushroom soup. Add the soy sauce and black pepper. Pour over green beans.
- Top with French fried onions.
- Bake for 20 minutes uncovered.
- Remove from oven. Allow to stand 10 minutes before serving.
