Ridill is a sword in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Availability[]
Ridill is a high-level crafted sword that cannot be made until the player has access to Den of Behemoths due to its component swords requiring Fiend Fangs. It requires one of each of the elemental Hofud derived swords and a Dragon Heart.
Crafting it requires the recipe book "Legendary Equipment/R," which is found in Hall of Termination.
Once crafted, the shop will sell Ridill for 43,200G, or 38,880G with a discount card.
Crafting[]
Materials needed:
- Florenberg ×1
- Almace ×1
- Caladbolg ×1
- Dragon Heart ×1
Characteristics[]
Most players are likely to skip over Ridill and instead wait for an Imbrued Fang to make Blue Rose, since it appears utterly useless. Its stated ATK of 20 is, after all, less than half as strong as Florenberg and Almace and just over half as strong as Caladbolg, and its description does not imply any special capabilities.
On actually using the sword, however, it becomes clear why its ATK is so low: Ridill strikes three times per swing in a similar manner to the four strikes of Rhava Velar, meaning its effective base damage is 60. This makes it the strongest single-handed sword with fixed damage.
It should be noted that Ridill is weak when using Techniques as these function by adding percentages to its base ATK, which is not multiplied by three for this purpose. Ridill has access to the Technique Power Slash by default.
Trivia[]
- Ridill is a sword from Norse mythology given to the hero Sigurd by the dwarf Regin. After using his own sword Gram to slay Regin's brother Fafnir, who had been transformed into a dragon, Sigurd (or Regin in some versions) used Ridill to cut out the creature's heart.
