Lindsay Blair is a non-playable character featured in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. She is an Arvantville villager who has taken shelter of the demonic attack with the other survivors.

She was voiced by Kari Wahlgren in the English version of the game and by Reiko Muratsubaki in the Japanese version.

History

During the demon attack on Arvantville, Lindsay managed to escape the death and destruction, but had to watch helplessly as her friends and family died at the hands of the demon invaders. She is now fueled by the hatred and resentment she feels toward demons, and employs Miriam to cut down their population.

Lindsay acts as a bounty board for the player. She gives the name of a villager, the identity of the demon that killed them, and how many of them to slay. Naturally, as Miriam progresses through the game, the bounties increase significantly and Lindsay rewards her with items that are harder to obtain under normal circumstances or that are outright unique.

Trivia

• When the player accepts the first of Lindsay's quests, 'Avenge the death of my husband!', she says "Kill that murderer dead!" instead of the later "Kill those murderers dead!", despite the player being tasked with killing more than one Morte.
• "Kill those murderers dead!" has become a widely popular line among the fanbase because of its exaggerated delivery, grammatical redundancy, and the fact that Lindsay repeats it every time the player accepts a quest from her.
• The names of many of the people Lindsay wants avenged are those of characters from the Castlevania series. These names include:
  • Annette → Annette
  • Dario → Dario Bossi
  • Edward → Edward (presumably)
  • Julius → Julius Belmont
